The North Fork of the Flambeau River flows into the Chippewa River about halfway down its course.

Summer 2010

I started at the headwaters of the North Fork of the Flambeau, at the Turtle Dam Flowage and finished at the conflunce of the Chippewa River with the Mississippi River near Pepin, WI.

Tom's mother has passed on, but she used to swim across the river and back every day. Unbelievably, there was someone swimming across at that very spot when I arrived.
